Dr. Robison graduated from the Univ. of Central Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training in 2006. She then completed her doctorate in Physical Therapy from Elon Univ. in 2009. Kayla became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists in 2018. Kayla treats general orthopedic, sports medicine and women’s health. Kayla provides medical coverage for both Paralympic and Olympic Teams, in which she has worked among USA’s finest athletes in various sports since 2012. Her expertise is in body mechanics and frailty.
Dave’s educational background includes a BA in Biological Sciences from California State University, Sacramento, 1971, and a Ph.D. in Botanical Sciences & Plant Physiology from University of California, Berkeley, 1976, In 2004 he founded the Hershey Center for Health and Nutrition. Here, he focused on flavanol polyphenols in cocoa, conducting several human clinical trials on muscle inflammation, strength, mental cognition and other end points. Dave holds great expertise in flavonoids, in particular the family of catechins.
Dr. Sekura is the former Chief of the Pharmaceutical and Regulatory Affairs Branch of the Division of AIDS at The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institute of Health (NIH), as well as a former Research Chemist at The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) at the NIH and the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER). He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Biochemistry degrees at Pennsylvania State University and his PhD at Cornell University. Dr. Sekura is the author of over sixty scientific publications. Dr. Sekura is also the former President of VivoNex LLC and Biotechnology Assessment Services, Inc.
Farideh Bischoff received her Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from University of Texas Graduate School for Biomedical Sciences (Houston, TX) followed by postdoctoral training at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Baylor College of Medicine. She is clinically trained and a recognized expert in human molecular genetics and cytogenetic; and has served as a full-time professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine. With over 300 papers/chapters published, Farideh has made significant contributions to the research and clinical fields of prenatal diagnosis, oncology, infertility and preimplantation genetic diagnosis.
Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kevin Leonard has many years of relevant logistics and business experience to include 33 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Army retiring at the rank of Major General. In his final Army assignment as the commander of the Military Surface Deployment Distribution Command, Kevin led over 4,000 employees in a global U.S. Defense Distribution Enterprise, which provided expeditionary and sustained end to-end deployment and distribution to meet the nation’s objectives.
Kevin is the former President/CEO of Technica LLC now serving on their Board of Directors. Kevin advises Technica on their work in support of the DoD, OHS, and other clients across the United States and overseas locations. Prior to joining Technica Kevin was the senior vice president for Contingency Operations at both Fluor and Vectrus. In that capacity, he was responsible for the development and execution of short and long-term strategies aimed at execution of contingency response requirements and execution of the FEMA individual and housing program and the U.S. Army Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP V) as the designated PM. His teams supported a diverse set of missions and clients to include the DoD (U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Central Command), Homeland Security, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Joseph Caravalho, Jr., M.D., leads The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF), a private, nonprofit organization established in 1983 and authorized by the U.S. Congress, whose mission is to partner to advance medicine for the mutual benefit of military and civilian health. As President and CEO, Dr. Caravalho guides the strategic vision for HJF and its global workforce in pursuit of its vital mission.
MG Caravalho culminated his 38-year military career as the Army Deputy Surgeon General and then as the Joint Staff Surgeon, serving as the chief medical advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Clinically, Dr. Caravalho held positions as a staff internist, nuclear medicine physician, and cardiologist. Operationally, he served as medical officer in the 1st Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group; Joint Special Operations Command; 75th Ranger Regiment; U.S. Army Special Operations Command; and XVIII Airborne Corps. He also commanded the 28th Combat Support Hospital.
He has two combat deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the latter of which he served as the senior medical officer for both Multi-National Force-Iraq and Multi-National Corps-Iraq. He then served in succession as the Commanding General for the Army’s Southern Regional Medical Command (RMC) and Brooke Army Medical Center; Northern RMC; and the Army Medical Research and Materiel Command and Fort Detrick, MD.
Dr. Caravalho graduated with a medical doctorate from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in 1983. He also has a BA in math from Gonzaga University, as well as a master’s degree in strategic studies from the Army War College. He completed an internal medicine residency, as well as both nuclear medicine and cardiology fellowships, and was board-certified in all three. In 2019 he received an honorary doctor of laws from Gonzaga University. He also earned both the Special Forces and Ranger tabs.
Dr. Caravalho is currently a member of both the Wounded Warrior Project Board of Directors and the Gonzaga University Board of Trustees.

Jason M. Anderson is experienced in the fields of biological discovery, genomic modeling, drug development and national security.
Mr. Anderson serves as President of Weiss Bioscience, Inc. a therapeutic discovery company that leverages the human ancestral microbiome to address inflammatory disease and produce world-class consumer offerings through its line of Symbiome products. Mr. Anderson is a Director and Board Member of VasGene Therapeutics, Inc. whose drug for the treatment of solid tumor cancer is currently being trialed in several hundred patients and has received Breakthrough Designation by the FDA. Mr. Anderson serves as an Independent Director for NovAccess Global whose candidate drug for the treatment of glioblastoma and cancers of the central nervous system, has received Orphan Drug Designation by the FDA.
Mr. Anderson was a co-founder and member of the board of EdenRoc Sciences, LLC, a privately held biotechnology company formed to cultivate world-class life sciences start-up companies including Liberty Biosecurity, LLC, where he served as co-founder and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Anderson has co-authored several granted patents in the life sciences that describe how genomic and biological information can be encrypted and securely disseminated. Mr. Anderson previously served as a diplomat for the United States Department of State. Dr. Irvin received his B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University, Ph.D. from UCLA School of Medicine, Masters in Public Health from UCLA School of Public Health, and was trained at The Wallenberg Neuroscience Center at Lund University in Lund, Sweden. He was an Assistant Professor, Faculty Member at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Department of Neurosurgery, and Adjunct Professor at Occidental College.
Dr. Irvin’s Ph.D. is in Pharmacology and Developmental Neuroscience with an emphasis on neural stem cell fate and differentiation. His research focused on neural development and Notch Signaling in mammalian neural stem cells.
Dr. Irvin worked as an NIH/NINDS Post-Doctoral Fellow in Dr. Anders Bjorklund laboratory in Lund, Sweden. There, his focus was on research projects that investigated the potential role of cell replacement therapy for patients with Parkinson’s disease. They developed several protocols for the efficient generation of dopaminergic neurons from forebrain and ventral midbrain stem and progenitor cells.
Dr. Irvin led research investigations in the role of adaptive immunity in Parkinson’s disease. He also developed two patents in the area of immunotherapy for brain tumor patients, specifically Glioblastoma. His research team focused on molecular mechanisms that impart therapeutic resistance in cancer cells, including cancer stem cells. They utilized this data to develop novel immunotherapies for brain tumor patients.
Dr. Mangiardi was trained at University of California, San Francisco, and New York University. He was Chief of Neurosurgery at Lincoln Hospital in the South Bronx from 1983 – 1990, and later Lenox Hill Hospital from 1991-2006. He rose to associate professor at the New York Medical College, and later Clinical professor at NYU.
Dr. Mangiardi has authored 24 patents and has designed the various components of the Optimus Integrated Surgical Environment (ISE). He moved the company from New York to Zurich, Switzerland in 2011, Optimus Services AG. where he worked with Swiss engineers and software teams to produce the prototype operating solution to fruition at the University Hospital Clinic Barcelona in 2016. After the company went into liquidation in 2019, he co-founded DATUS Surgical BV in the Netherlands to complete the project and execute the company’s vision.
Dr. Mangiardi has broad experience in healthcare technology design and development, healthcare facility infrastructure, operating room design and development, clinical data acquisition technologies, entrepreneurial start-ups, innovation strategies, technology integration, neurology and neurosurgery, neurooncology, brain tumor biochemistry, medical device design and development, imagining technologies, team building and management. A strong believer in the need for a strong esprit d’coeur, sense of mission, simplicity as a means to conquer problems of complexity.
His publications include 38 peer reviewed papers. He is also an accomplished artist, painter and totem sculptor.
Dr. Leyer received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin – Madison from the Department of Food Microbiology and Toxicology in 1993 whereafter he began a 30-year career in the ‘biotic’ sciences.
He spent five years at Abbott Nutrition developing innovative probiotic solutions for adults and children in the medical and pediatric nutrition space. Greg then held several probiotic-focused senior research and business development positions in a 15-year career at Danisco - DuPont.
In 2013, Greg joined forces to acquire UAS Laboratories, a probiotic-focused dietary supplement company, where he held the role of Chief Scientific Officer. In 2020, Chr. Hansen acquired UAS Labs and Greg fulfilled the role of Sr. Director –Scientific Affairs within the Human Health business unit until the end of 2023.
Greg has published multiple papers in the areas of probiotic clinical benefits, application know-how, and microbial safety parameters.

Adam is a strategist, social impact innovator, entrepreneur and investor with significant leadership and advisory experience spanning large organizations, early stage start-ups and management consulting. Adan is adept at unlocking growth across a wide variety of verticals including health/healthcare and wellness, food and food systems, digital health and enterprise platforms. Adam has deep experience in innovation, scenario planning and change, systems thinking, brand positioning and architecture and corporate strategy – all through the lens of positive social impact and regenerative models. He has also worked at the intersection of human behavior, leadership, human health and potential for his entire career and has led large consumer research efforts over the course of 2 decades. Adam continues today as a leadership development coach to purpose-driven leaders. Adam holds nine patents and formerly led development and innovation processes that delivered hundreds of new products to market creating billions of dollars of incremental value.
Ahmed is a serial entrepreneur and an advisor to sustainable businesses with innovative products in the CPG marketplace. He is in service to those caring for their community and creating positive change for the planet. He has advised dozens of CPG companies launch and scale in the marketplace. He co-founded Numi, one of the largest premium, organic, fair trade tea companies in North America.
Ahmed co-founded OSC, One Step Closer, a community of sustainable natural products business leaders, working together in collaborative and innovative ways toward positive change for our food industry, planet and people.
